This year's birthday was special.  Fighting cancer this past year gave me an entirely new perspective on life.  Being able to have the breath in my lungs is such a precious gift that I hope to never take for granted.

For my birthday, I decided to forego my usual trip to the mall for new clothes.  Since finishing chemo in February, I have been hyper focused on ways to improve my health.  While I will never know what caused the cancer, I intend to do everything within my control to prevent it from striking again.  This year, I decided to give myself something that would move me in the direction of wellness: TOXIN FREE MAKEUP!

Over the past nine months, I have spent a lot of time researching chemicals that are linked to cancer and ways to prevent cancer.

Using the "Think Dirty" app on my phone, I took a close look at the ingredients in my makeup and cleaning products. I was shocked.  My makeup contained CARCINOGENS  and HORMONE DISRUPTORS!!  I had no idea that the products that I was putting on my face were harmful to my health.

The term "hormone disruptor" was new to me.  I did a little research and found that it refers to chemical that interfere with the endocrine system.  Hormone disruptors can interfere with reproduction, disturb the immune and nervous systems, and increase the risk of cancer.

Now, back to my birthday gift...

I bought Savvy Minerals makeup by Young Living and feel so good about using something that is completely toxin free!  I am using the foundation, mineral veil, blush, and eyeshadow.  If you are like me and new to mineral makeup, there is a bit of a learning curve.  Fortunately, the internet is loaded with "how to" videos that I found to be helpful in learning to use it.  I love how light it feels and how natural it looks.

If you are interested in purchasing Savvy Minerals makeup, I can help you become a Young Living wholesale member by building a custom Savvy Minerals starter kit.  Click here to learn how to become a Young Living member and put together your kit.  I am here to help!
